Patvinsuo is a true gem of Eastern Finland — a vast wetland surrounded by old forests and crystal-clear lakes. In winter, the park turns into a peaceful wilderness where soft snow and snow-covered pines create a unique, calm atmosphere. The early spring light slowly returns, and the silence of nature makes an impression from the very first steps.
Join us for a weekend ski trek across the open landscapes of Patvinsuo National Park. This trip is especially designed for those who want to experience winter trekking for the first time. Each day we move at a relaxed pace across the snowy bogs, stop to enjoy the scenery, and take snack breaks surrounded by the stillness of nature. Evenings are spent around the campfire, sharing stories and warming up, while nights are spent in your own tent — a great way to safely learn the basics of winter camping under expert guidance.
The trek is perfect for beginners — no prior experience in ski trekking is required. You only need a willingness to try something new, enjoy the peace of nature, and take your first steps into the world of winter adventures.
We recommend using your own familiar outdoor gear for comfort and safety. If you’re missing something, the guide will help you with renting or choosing suitable equipment. Participants will also have access to a private WhatsApp group, where you’ll receive support and advice on gear and meal planning before the trip. We focus on lightweight and warm gear, and we’ll go through all details and the itinerary together in advance.
Program
A private WhatsApp group is created for all participants, where the guide is available for questions and to coordinate shared transport if needed.
Friday, March 6, 2026 – We meet at 13:00 at Patvinsuo National Park. Together we pack and prepare backpacks and sleds (pulks). We then start our trek towards the first camp, skiing about 4 km. Upon arrival, we set up tents and settle into camp life.
